The continuous sound of billiard cues and balls
The spooky smell of cigars when the night falls;
Moving chairs, every day come unidentified men:
All things are shady, the only female body is mine.

Standing in the midst of dark solid wood furniture,
I shudder at the thought of what I have to endure:
Flaunting bills of great value, with despising laughs,
They show off power, carrying cigars to their mouths.

In this enormous, shadowy and taciturn house
I hear them talking and sometimes coming close...
And I pray weeping the God that I've never seen
The mouth shut, keeping my eyes on the ceiling.

In the South I used to live a joyful life, in a lovely place
Then he came, with his suits, with his handsome face!
Nice the talk, nice the words, claiming genuine love for me...
My only feeling for him is now hatred in the highest degree!

Among all, his laugh is as menacing as enthusiast
Let him do what he wants, just let him do it fast.
